question (from your post), what time does it get DARK this time of year in AZ? Didn't you say you have no DST?. More importantly, what time does it get dark in June-July?

I'm just a big proponent of daylight in the evening. DST gives me that in the summer. If I had my "druthers", I druther LEAVE it in place all year long, so we get an extra hour daylight in winter... :>)
